Love and God's People

Jesus spoke many words in the N.T. about love and especially the love of the brethren for other brethren and also their love of God and His truth, His way of life. Let me start out with John 15 and in two verses Jesus teaches two pivotal important keys to christian love. Verse 12, "This is my commandment, that you love one another as I have loved you" -- talk about a goal or directive or example, it is simply stated but way beyond normal human behavior. And also verse 13, "Greater love has no man than this, that a man lay down his life for his friends" -- Jesus wastes no time in getting to the ultimate test of true love for friends --giving one's life for another. In this text he not only sets the benchmark, he gives a preview of His ultimate gift to all of mankind "laying His life down for His friends". If we can only get from this a small percentage of the awesome Godly truth that Jesus is sharing, than our lives will be richer beyond belief. How could we ever treat someone with disrespect, apathy and neglect again if we put this into practice -- not only treating others as better than ourselves but also willing to give up our lives for our friends because our love for them is real Godly love.

Back to Work

Well, its back to work and getting on with reality leaving the beach and the sand behind. After 8+ days of great sermons, fellowship, praise music and fun, it is time to again experience the doldrums of sitting at a desk all day long and enjoying bantering in the business world via e-mail. Oh, wonderful e-mail, it has its drawbacks but it does have lots of positive benefits; just a couple include staying off the phone more and also getting time to answer the question after you get time to look into it thoroughly.

Yes, the Last Great Day ends and we get to go back into the world. One must remain positive and look at the bright side, if you have a job to return to it beats standing in the unemployment line and begging for handouts. And also, you get out of your daily work experience what you put into it. Always be positive, keep an attitude that lets the world know you are a person of faith and looking only to whatever is just, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely and whatever is of a good report. If there be any virtue and if there be any praise, think on these things.

Last Great Day

How beautiful and lovely for brethren to dwell together in unity! The feast in Destin ended with a wonderful day of rejoicing and praising as we wrapped up the fall holy day season and started thinking about our trip home. The music was superb as the choir entertained us with some great music to wind up a week of fantastic music by all, teens, adult and the younger kids. Ronald L. Dart gave a sermon that hit all the right keys in explaining the true meaning of this special holy day dedicated to those who will come up in the great resurrection at the end of the milennium.
The day followed with food, food and more food............lunch at 2:30 and dinner at 6:00 so we did not have any time for digestion. Well, the feast is now a wonderful memory..........

See you in 2008!!
